On My 5th Ps3

This is really annoying me now because over this year i have had 4 60 gb ps3's one which had my cod 4 stuck inside! since my release on broke, this time i am going to ask them if the slim is any more reliable. has anyone here had any problems with ps3 slim?

Sounds bad.

I've had my Jap import PS3 from a couple of months before UK release date and it hasnt had a single glitch.

No idea about the slim ones. Sorry.

Blimey, you're onto your fifth, whereabouts are you keeping it when it's running? Does it get enough air to cool it? I bought mine just after launch and I can count the number of times it's crashed on one hand, can't comment on the new slims I'm afraid.

I keep it about 5-6 inches from the wall and its lying down. would that affect it?

Can only be something you're doing - do you hoover? Wii's used to fail because of dust.

The common failure reason I have read about is over heating either due to the vents not getting enough air (people putting the machine too close to a wall), or the vents getting clogged with dust.

If you have gone through 5 you are either very unlucky, or there is something about where you are putting the machine that is killing it. Is the desk particularly dusty?
