For those who wanted it, here's a scan from one of the brochures I got with my Callaway. Looks like they did quite a bit to ensure longevity from the old L98.

They charged enough for it though!

Interesting, apart from top speed the performance statistics are very close to the current Z06. I bet the Callaway feels different as it delivers that performance though.

I'd like a ride in a Z06 - maybe I can persuade Nigel!?

As for how the Twin Turbo feels - it isn't peaky at all, just a smooth spread of power at any revs. Just feels like a massive big block.

Pulls 6th gear easily too which is pretty tall at about 42 mph per 1000 revs.

Don't know which Callaway post to look at next! Does Keith Beschi still have his 88 Callaway? Not sure if it is/was an 88, talking about 4+2 transmissions reminded me.

Hi Geoff, yes Keith still has his car, it's an '87. Interestingly the other '87 Callaway he used to own which is also silver is owned by a guy who lives about 5 miles from me. He is not exactly a gentle driver to say the least, yet he's owned it about 3 years with virtually no problems. I think it's also covered a good few miles more than most as well. Gotta drive them!

BTW I doubt if I'll be able to come down to you Saturday. All these Callaway posts are not getting to me (honest) but a large part of it is the fact that my heart isn't really in it to sell my car. Might email you privately if I get a chance.
