A lovely stripped, koni'd Rover 216 Coupe track car is the latest victim of the Governments scrappage scheme. When will the madness end? frown

When the dumbass idiots realise theyre paying full retail less a normal "discount"
Programme showing the price increases show a few days ago was interesting.
VW are loving this, very few UK companies are benefiting from it, just a false number of new cars being sold through dealerships.
Wonder if the number of repossessions will increase once the new owners realise their paid-for-banger cost £100 a month where the new one is £300+ ..... I'd assume the sort of person owning a car of this age and value wouldnt necessarily be on the lookout for a new car and its outlay.

It was my 216 Coupe, I'm afraid sadly I'M the dumbass idiot wink

To be fair, there's not many discounts on the MiTo, and I was more after knowing exactly how much I had going out each month rather than the irregular system I have now where some months it would be problem free and other months I'd pay out £8-900.

Plus I'm a tart and have always fancied an Alfa

It'd be an honour mate smileIt's my first one, but having driven several at the weekend I'm afraid to say I don't think it'll be my last, they all just felt so much more "Special" (cliché I know) than the other cars I drove, some of which were technically far better in an objective way. But none of them made me feel like the Alfa did and as I'll be stuck with it for 3 years, loving the car is pretty important wink Hence I went for the 155 Veloce instead of the 1.3jtdm like I was originally planning on...

I have to wait on the V5 for the 200 to come back as I misplaced it, but then it will be about a week so hopefully early December.

It's a Black 1.4 TB 155 Veloce, standard spec as I didn't really think any of the options were worth the extra cost, in that trim it's pretty well equipped anyways. I think it's got 16's, but I can't quite remember. I didn't pay extra for wheels so I'm fairly sure the 16s are stock. Which is fine because I think the ride might be a bit firmer on the 17s anyway! I went with Black as I say, and the Black/Red cloth interior, I think it'll look pretty swish smile

I heard that you had to put in a special code to enable the fanny magnet mode, I think it's part of the Blue&Me system?

Indeed it looks pretty much like this

I just got off the phone with Reginald at the Gentlemens club...He's not pleased! frown

PS; Let me know when we're next going hunting, the buxom ladies at the stables would be in a hoohaa about this newly acquired metal.

I shall discuss the matter with him at my earliest convenience, I'm sure when I explain to him the positive nature of the change for the image of the club, he will concede his point what?

As for the hunting, one should know that I am always available to toast the queen with a nice glass of champers and buxom stablehands at high tea!

I only had it for half an hour, but that was enough to sell it for me.

I particularly liked the fact the salesman didn't make any effort to accompany me on the test drive evil

Dont worry Matt, Ive got 2 Hondas, you dont want to be in their smelly Gentlemans Club anyways, they have 1 direct line to the recovery service, another to Alfa's Customer Complaints dept...... tongue out

S.M.H - don't be fooled - Matt's Honda is no more a Honda than my Rover Coupe is...

Also, you're forgetting our other direct line. The horses head is already on it's way...

Luke - The hot one is coming at some point... Hopefully just in time for me to trade this one in in a few years time :P

Mr E. - I reckon you could fit a V6 in the back somewhere... Does that mean the soon to arrive 159 GTA isn't a proper Alfa either wink

Indeed, you are quite correct biggrin

Besides Dan's still smarting from:

His previous vehicle was powered by the far easts finest but was under endowed in the camshaft department.

Also his New car is still 12bhp down on my 11 year old estate car.... and I bet the weight isn't much different wink

Probably not, this is true... But your Rover 400 Tourer gets, um, poor fuel economy? Think of the environment!?!

OK, not hugely convincing. It does have more torque than your 11 year old Rover though. And doesn't make me look like a drug dealer.
