Xbox Live Cut off for 'Chipped' consoles

Curiously how do MS know that peoples consolves are chipped? Hate for them to make a mistake playing MW2 and cutting me off!!

In the recient case, playing a game a week before release was a bit obvious.

They *can't* get bios versions over the internet/live, so it's the broadcasting that you are playing a hooky copy is the easy way.
