It appears that this company actually make the SPECs cameras and very helpfully identify where they are actually (as opposed to mythically) located.

Saw a piece on the French channel TV5 last night about the introduction of mobile speed cameras in France.
They will be mounted in the back of unmarked cars, all you can see from the rear is a 300mm square window above the rear bumper. The two cars shown were a black Renault Espace and a BMW 5 series. Could be more than a little interesting going to lemons this year!

That's nothing new. I got flashed on the Autoroute 2-3 years back by a Golf Estate with the camera and flash mechanism built into the tailgate. It was sitting on the hard shoulder.

I guess i must have been REAL lucky in France in the past. I have been stopped twice both times the police were using spotter helicopters.

Maybe we should all get together, dump these cars of ours and just buy a real fast 'plane. No speed limits as far as I know!

About the only things that aren't regulated are sh*gging and breathing. Only because the government hasn't found ways yet.

Nice (?) to see the authorities are as pig-headingly (good word) determined to spoil everyone's fun as they are over here.

Having passed through 4 traps in each direction last year I imagine the roads will be full of them for June 2004. Time to set the cruise and relax!

I'm probably going down with the Kent crew again this year as I am staying in the same hotel. So I should be ok when it comes to the speed traps
