FM3 - PH Sticker Comp

I was looking through the pictures on the forums and the PH logos in the storefront and see some good attempts at replicating the stickers in the PH Shop and the PH logos... so I thought (and I know it was mentioned before release) that a little (unofficial) competition would be good.

So rules are to recreate the stickers below from the shop stick them on a car and post them below. Mr Will and I will judge the entries and will pick some winners and we will have some prizes from the shop to give away too.

If they are equally good then we will take the first entry as the best and it must be all your own work.





ETA: The one below has to be body colour behind so it can be put on any car (thus covering the black parts with white will not do)



Also, we will find something in PH offices for the most PistonHeads Car prize... and I will leave that as that ambiguous!

You can enter the most PH car... you can use any stickers you like for that!

No, I got the right one.

Anything with a background colour (or multiple background colours) is easier than ones with holes in.

Hmm, i'm just in the throws of chucking the black and white one together and I thought it was fairly easy (apart from getting the relative dimensions of each piece right) but the one with the flag behind has me stumped before i've started.

Are you doing one? If so, I look forward to seeing how you do it.

If you put the black one on a background colour (white/body colour/whatever) then it is pretty easy. If you try to do it using only black vinyl then it is tricky to get spot on.

I'll have a bash at a few if I get chance, but I'll definitely look forward to seeing what everyone produces.

The Union Jack one looks like a challenge, although mine isn't 'clear' it shouldn't be too hard to modify the inserts to the right colour. Hardest bit will be to draw a good Union Jack in the 1st place

Well we didn't want to make it too easy

I have just had a go myself and my smiley isn't too bad, but I bet there is better ones out there. Will get it uploaded to here later!

My PH car
Turbocharged mx-5, 280bhp, standard suspension, chunky brakes and a roll cage. Brilliant fun without actually being able to beat anyone!

And ho yeh, its lurid green

Are their two different logo's? The toxicated one in the yellow diamond above looks alot leaner than the Pistonheads one in the black circle, and the face and cross-pistons on the white background.

There is an older style (in the toxicated) and a new style, the difference being the thickness of the lines in the face... the hard thing I have found is getting all the lines in the face, including the circle around the outside the same width!

Yes, it's a job and a half. Anyway, I have something complete, i'll snap a couple of photo's of it on a car and post it up shortly.

ETA, this logo is not cut out, it's white on black to create the shapes. Now it's done i'll work on getting black only.

Righto, i've done a solid colour only version, no bodycolour fillers required, simply change the colour and slap it over any car or other vinyl. I had a real issue with the face though, I can't think of a way to make the lines thin enough to look right. Thoughts?
