as above - www.seloc.org is very busy for the ELise/Exige
also its a low volume car .....maybe 25000 Elise/Exige in the world ever, after 10 years production ....Porsche sell 4x that in a year, and they are not considered a huge volume manufacturer...

Also its the time of year.
I've just got mine.. however the roads up my way (edinburgh) are getting too slippy to tell you about the great drive i would of had if it hadnt been raining. Nor am i thinking about spending money on upgrades just yet (Christmas is here)
Think like all niche forums there is only so much can be said about superchargers or which coilovers people can say before people just dont bother posting. Also unlike say.. a clio sport forum the level of new owners coming in isnt as high.
Shame cause i like reading stuff like the vs. threads but im not in a postion to buy anything right now so no need to start them up.

Generally they're very reliable cars.
Most people are on Seloc which is much busier (general chit-chat more than technical).
A lot of people got a bit upset with PH with the overly strong moderation that took place with the "car jumpers" thread and went over to Seloc. I certainly don't post on here anywhere near as much after that incident. Most people are on Seloc which is much busier (general chit-chat more than technical).
To be honest it appears that most of the traffic here is either the compulsive posters who are active *everywhere*
and the remainder are people who can't be arsed with SELOC and its cliqueyness and want to feed off the same information that's available - some of the *really* useful posters over at SELOC also post here, you see.
Too many people put their Exiges / Elises away for winter too. I admit that early S1s can be just a daily irritation in this type of weather for daily use (screen demisting being the no. 1 problem - if it takes 15 minutes every morning then you slowly end up wanting a boring car with air con), but with a few tricks (always leave the car overnight with the screen vents SHUT, do a long drive at full heater frequently enough to keep the car dry inside, and if it starts leaking, FIX IT because as soon as a decent amount of water gets *inside* the car, it'll be condensing on the screen every day and eventually freezing... and you'll never get it dry then) you can keep the car as easy to demist as any other car of its age.
But the modern lot with air con (like my Exige) - no excuse, even with a damp car and a sodden screen it's 2 minutes with a chamois and the air con on full blast. The trouble is that these cars came from Lotus with A048R tyres which are stupid in the winter. Put on appropriate tyres during the winter and the car is perfectly usable.
If my daily drive wasn't a few minutes to the railway station car park, then I'd use mine every day. Car parks can be a pain in the arse (door opening width) and it'll never warm up.
