£ sign.

When I put a £ sign into a post, PH automatically puts an accented A in front of it. It does it from my blackberry and my laptop at home. Is it just me? Or does it happen to other people too?

If I try to reply to this topic with a pound sign in my reply a sign comes up saying PARSING ERROR

I get that too.

Probably because pistonheads code doesn't state what encoding they use so your browser guesses and renders with something else which is not UTF-8.

I can post £ fine, so it is probably a browser setting, but I'll do my best to get it sorted.

I'm using Firefox, but when trying to post a single £ as a reply it returns the Parsing Error.

I have the same problem with Blackberry Browser 4.6.0 when using the mobile site.

Character Encoding > Western > (ISO-8859-1)

Its all default from how it was when installed, i've not changed any settings etc.

£ signs work for me..

Just if you reply with a singular £, it doesn't like it and gives the Parsing Error.

For me the http response's content-type is iso-8859-1 so Firefox is encoding in that while it appears that the symbols are stored in UTF-8.

The test phrase in the link above will cause a parsing error too but I'm not sure why.

I'm just using Windows explorer

It does it when I'm browsing on the blackberry too. £ this is from the laptop.
