Ultima and top gear prgm.
Discussion
After a very long wait (years!) I have managed to get a ticket for next weeks show. I live just up the road from the Top Gear track, and hope to take my spyder on Wednesday.(the day they film it) If possible, I will put a copy of the Ultima top gear track times review on the car and hope to stir things up. Will let you know what reaction - if any - after Wednesday.

why dont you put a printed copy of the website record by the entrance door??? for everyone to see as you walk in...and a few accidently handed out or dropped on the floor....whoops!!!!!!!!!!
If you're feeling brave you could always knock up a few T shirts
To be fair, and so I dont tread on anyones toes, the GTR was drawn by Stig last year, I just 'Top Feared' it

haha, thats pretty funny. I must be out of the loop but what I can gather is someone independently did the track and beat their best car/time on the show...and top gear doesnt or wont that car on the show? I would watch that.
Check out the factory site: http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Default.aspxat the top (edge) of the page for the full story
Without prejudice
I must admit i would rather watch my mrs on a karaoke machine wow shes crap!!!! than go and see the top gear live program 2 of the 3 presenters i hate with contempt over acted garbage.I find it amazing anyone would watch it.As for turning there backs on the ultima is beyond belief.
I was invited free of charge to the show in london on saturday as one guy dropped out.I settled for decorating instead at home.My son said it was a bit childish but hey the 5 and 7 year old that went enjoyed it !!!!!!!! that sums it up.
Wht not shout your grevance out live if it is live and see what happens? Now that would be worth watching.By the way has anyone on here or with an ultima approached the top gear bosses? Has anyone cornered the bad actors and found out why the ultima is not recognised especially after raving about the caterham .

I went yesterday to the first filming of this new series, to be shown this sunday evening.
Mixed reactions from the show really.... We got there in the ultima, my son in his tvr and a friend in a jag v12 - the next best interesting car in the car park seemed to be a five year old astra. Not sure where they get the audience from but it seemed to be 50% young women who were there only to see the hampster, and about 10% who were really "petrolheads". The car park is some way from the filming studio (hanger) and so after a 10 min walk we went in and looked around. The presenters came in and made a few jokes and did the scenes (many times as clarkson jokes and messes around spoiling the takes) It took 4 hours to shoot 30 mins of "live" action.
I came away thinking that the presenters are just that. I think they are above the whole "car" thing. If the program was about boats or dishwashers I think the show would be the same thing, they would make the jokes and show the "passion" etc, but truly interested in the products..?? not sure.
In other words they wouldn't give a toss about Ultima or any other small car supplier/builder - unless the "system" told them that they were interested. It is a TV show after all and they are out for entertainment, not to just do what some might see as "right". Anyway, it was a good (free) day out, interesting to see how the show is filmed and run (they have great jobs!) but wouldn't hold your breath about getting an Ultima on there, unless the BBC "system" (not the presenters) so say. Still I should get my 10 secs of TV fame, I should appear right at the start of the show next to the Aston Martin.

Nail on head. As I've said many, many times, Top Gear is about making 'telly' for the gormless 'Hello' reading masses, not an informed programme for enthusiasts. My daughter went to the last show in the last series and she came away with exactly the same opinion, she said that people were there just to get on telly couldn't care less about anything else, just a mad rush to get near Hamster and a camera. She also said that Clarkson was the clown on and off camera but spoke to people, Captain Slow was intense but a laugh, but Hamster she thought was up his own a e, didn't interact with anyone off camera. All in all like you Paul a free day out and a look how the program is made.
