Hi all,

I just wanted to see if anyone else is partaking in the Getty scheme through flickr.

I now have a few images on sale with them, but it does seem a tad restrictive in that the images cannot be used by any other stock agencies and are tied in for 3 years.

That said hearing about some of the fees being earned for only one or two sales it seems to pay off going with Getty exclusively.

I suppose my reasoning behind going for it is that I have a pile of images sitting on flickr - some of which I have previously submitted to shutterstock and rejected - that are doing nothing, so for the sake of forsaking control of the image rights for 3 years I haven't lost anything and may make some pin money in the process.

Do any of you guys have any thoughts on the scheme?

Presumably you are uploading full size images to flickr?

Personally I only upload tiddly web sized images, so would be quite unlikely to make any kind of sale of a 700px wide photo.

The system isn't directly linked to Flickr - once Getty have initially approved your image they invite you to upload the largest size possible. The smallest image accepted is 3MP.
