brake pipe

Hi
I am about to fit all new brake lines to the newly refurbished bare chassis - what is the best size as there seams to be 2 available 3/16" (8mm) or 5/16"
also will run the fuel feed and return in copper at the same time - is 1/4" the size to go for?

No, that's too small. 10mm would probably be OK, no harm in going even bigger. Make sure it's well supported so it can't flex, work harden and crack.

Brake pipes are all 3/16"
Don't know about fuel pipe, but can have a measure tomorrow,planning on dropping fuel tank out for a bit of a re-furb.

Unleaded fuel eats into copper. I was thinking of lorry brake pipe made of cunifer, which is petrol and brake fluid resistant

Didn't know that ! But think Kunifer / Cupro nickel looks better (like original)

Leave the polished copper pipe for vintage cars and public conveniences !. . .

Is it because we were all brought up with Meccano and Lego that we go for such bright colours though? Not having a go, just curious.

although I said copper I did mean Kunnifer (spelling?)

The colours were because I already had tins and decided to use them up

I loved Lego but hated Meccano

Fuel pipe from filter to engine on my S3 is a sort of hard plastic, 8mm O.D. ( about 6mm I.D. ? )

If using metal may need to improvise a way to connect to the banjo fitting on the filter ? ( guess yours is a 2.8 ? may be different )

Well done = exactly = Roll Cage mounts (at the base of the A pillar)

Just received the brackets to fit the ex Cerbera TVR AP Racing 4 pots to fit to the hubs - they look great with the 283mm grooved discs. So will start the build soon.

brakes are usually 3/16, clutches 1/4 and fuel 5/16

ETA: though all the fuel pipe on my S was braided rubbery stuff
