Forza 3 - Does anybody...

Does anybody use the clutch option on Forza? The reason I ask is I haven't heard or read of anybody using it, but I can imagine there would be some benifits to users of the game, particularly the drift fraternity.
Currently am using the pad in the configuration that allows A and X for go and stop and the shoulder buttons for gear changes, I am tempted to give it a try, but would like to hear if any of you guys have any thoughts and experiences on the matter, whether its ok, works well etc...
Is it worth it, or am I just going to repeatedly lunch gearboxes?

I use manual with clutch.. It makes it more realistic and enjoyable for me 
Only aid I have on is ABS because its an absolute
when you jam the brakes on too hard and go flying straight into the wall without even having time to attempt to turn I think I will be switching it off at some point though.
I really want competitive e,d,c,b,a racing
everyone just has all the aids on and gets a r1,r2,r3 or S car and zooms round!
I don't have the skills in R cars or poorly upgraded S cars to be really competitive! and tbh right now I don't really want to be.. I find lower class racing much more fun.. racing round in a bugatti veyron with all the aids on makes it feel like a crappy need for speed shift arcade game.

Same here but I play with no aids. Come to think of it I should play with ABS as most cars are fitted with this in reality! I am finding it a challenge in some races but the extra concentration required to race with the clutch and no electronic help really add to the game.Only aid I have on is ABS because its an absolute

As George said, I use the clutch and no driving aids.
Standard pad layout but with Handbrake and Clutch switched, ie. A=Clutch, LB=Handbrake.
You're right... I find it does help with drifitng, got me to rank 90ish in the world. I really should get round to putting scores in on every track though...
and yes, I use the same setup when Racing as well.

I tried it but only to see if I could f*ck the gearbox. I did.
I use my index fingers on the triggers, like a noob probably, so I had to change my hand position to use the clutch and it wasn't comfortable.
does it really make a difference or are you all being nerds with your "no assits" bragging?

No ABS = Later, more controlled, braking (or eternal damnation)
No TCS/STM = Faster Exits from corners.
Using the Clutch = A noticeable difference in the speed of gear change.
as for the use of red/green triangles directing you around the track... dont get me started

Why have the clutch as 'A'? It's a lot easier with one hand controlling the clutch and the other on the gears. How do you change gear like that?? Both buttons with your thumb??Standard pad layout but with Handbrake and Clutch switched, ie. A=Clutch, LB=Handbrake.

Go on!I understand all the aids have a negative effect...but what about the braking line? Especially on a new/very long track, i find it helps to tell whats coming...certainly the first few times you race it...no? Realism aside, whats the downside?

I only use ABS. the other stuff is off. Just wanting to know if it the clutch is worth it or not.
