S class discs

I have just had my S class serviced it has now done 17k mile and they have told me my front discs are illegal and worn out, I am still on my first set of pads and they are not even down to the wear indicators yet, are they having a laugh, do discs really wear out quicker than pads?

Ask the dealer (i'm assuming you've taken it to a main dealer) for the minimum thickness of the disc and what yours measured at?

I do know from years of experience with Mercedes that the M-Class (early versions) were prone to wearing pads and discs on the rear after very little mileage...

Best to check that first and see where you stand on measurements otherwise they might just be trying it on to get some more work.
