DIRT 2

am i the only guy who bought dirt 2 i come on to the form and all i see is forza 3 \0_0/

I've got DiRT2 - it's way more arcadey than Forza, but great fun if you don't fancy hardcore sim racing. The graphics are really great, the gameplay is the right balance of realistic and not too technical and I particularly like the flat out, balls to the wall Utah trailblazer levels.
Will have to get Gold so I can play online I suppose.

It would more likely be that my childhood was very fun and now I find boring games more boring, if my childhood was deprived of fun then I would likely find Forza 3 more fun.

Do I ever stop complaining about games I buy? well I only started Op'Flaspoint and Forza 3 is only the second game (I did have some multiplayer gripes with Il-2 but it was still awesome) so there isn't really a pattern. I will stop when I get a decent game.

As for Forza 3, it is very very dull and quite stupid and frustrating. It's like watching paint dry.... ironically though doing the painting is the only interesting part.

I tried to like it but I just don't want to play it, I think to myself "I'll have a go at Forza 3" and then within 30 mins I am bored stless and end up going back to a fun game like CoD4, PGR4 or Saints Row 2.

And before someone says "wait until you get the faster cars" this is a stupid argument, you shouldn't have to play through endless hours of dullness to get to something fun in any game.

Other things that drive me mad are the horrific loading times, not seen anything this bad since the days of the Saturn which are made worse as the game looks average.
The lack of qualifying is fking ridiculous, why do I always have to start last? You just spend the entire race trying to catch the one unfairly fast car that started in pole position and has a 5 second lead by the time you pass the other 6 cars.

I really really wanted to like it and get into the whole PH Forza tuning and racing thing and I have tried (see me photo's in the Forza threads and my Logo's for sale).....

.....but it just bores and frustrates (which is something a game should never do) me and I don't want to play it.

It's not a bad game but it's also not a very fun game.
