Hi guys, after a ND grad kit for my 10-20mm as the last one i was sold was too small and was visible at anything wider than 13mm.

Recommendations please?

I think Mr Carter uses Lee filters. Cokin do various sizes, what did you have before?

Cokin - crappy plastic filter holder that fitted the 77mm lens thread however when opened right up, you could see the edges of the filter holder.

Needing something bigger smile

I have the same problem too John. So end up holding the filter in front of the lens. But a right pain on long exposures, ie doesn’t work! I’ve tried elastic bands but it’s a right faf trying to get it to stay exactly where you want it. I’d be interested in a solution to this too.

Paul, the cokin ones are basically just the wrong size - sounds like we both have the same one. The Lee filters are about twice the size, I have seen them recently on the front of other peoples lenses ( I was very jealous!)

I have the Cokin system and as long as the holder is straight, it only slightly vignettes at 12mm with the UWA holder.

The sigma 10-20 isn't strong at 10mm so it doesn't bother me that much. Plus, I hate landscape photography.

Mine is cracking at 10mm, mostly used there exclusivly.

On my 350D tho I only see 95% of the frame so often miss the holder creeping in.

If you don't want to spend too much money, elastic bands around the filters can hold it to the camera. Not very adjustable though wink

He's right you know...on both counts smile

Lee is great quality stuff you'll only need to buy it once but is mega expensive.

I'm looking to spend about 150 quid, any chance this will do the job?

As mentioned I use Lee. On a DX sensor at 10m on the Sigma 10-20D you can't see the filter holder.

You mignt not want the starter kit... but: http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-lee-starter-ki...

Cokin do a pro "Z" series with a 100mm holder, you can buy an ND grad starter kit with holder for about £130 - it's pretty much the same price as Lee but comes with an additional filter, no idea on the comparative merits.

Lee make Wide Angle and Normal adapter rings for their standard holder. I have used their grads on the Sigma 10-20 without any problems with the WA adapter. I have since sold the 10-20, and might be intertested in parting with the Lee filters (though I have sold the 77mm Lee WA adapter, but another one wouldn't break the bank. john185k, email me if you are interested

Could you list what filters you have?
I have just bought the Lee holder, rings and a few filters. I'd be interested in more filters if you'd split your kit.
