I want to buy a new Chimaera but prefer the front end look of the old car.Is it possible to remove the glass head lamp covers or request them not to be fitted in the first place?.I really dislike them.Is there any other visual difference between the two cars apart from this?.

I know it's some distance from you, but Logik in Dunfermline have one for sale. Thay say it's a new one but it has the old style headlinghts. Their number is 01383-625337.

The headlamp cowls are epoxyed (?) to the body, the outside I think is pretty much identical apart from that really.

Other changes are the seats are different, and much more comfortable, there is no black plastic in the cockpit, everything is ally, all the switches, dial surrounds, stalks etc.

Its got stiffer suspension than the earlier cars as its basically a Griff under the body now and I think thats just about it. Oh, the boot hinges are no longer exposed, but I am not sure if that was done in the 2001 facelift or earlier.

Earlier, sometime in 98-99 as my 98 Chim has them, and my mate's 99 Chim doesn't.
