PS2 Memory cards

I dusted off the PS2 at the weekend as I was bored. I only have a few games like Grant Turismo (3 I think), Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Vice City etc.

Anyway plugged everthing together and find I have nothing on my memory cards, do these degrade after a while? If so where is the best place to order some new cards.

I remember thinking that Metal Gear Solid was the best game I had ever played at the time and of course GTAVC is just masses of fun even if your just driving around popping wheelies and doing jumps.

I've never heard of them degrading. Could it be how they were stored?

New ones are a bargain. £5.99?
