Some more legal questions

Been asked by a large local designer outlet to shoot their christmas lights on launch, effectively walk around and shoot the event for about 5 hours. Snap the punters, lights etc. Now the issue I have is this is non-paid so do I still need liability insurance? The next question is some of the punters will have their kids, whats the beef with that, shooting people at a public event on private land?

If you are required to have it to work on the premises, then yes. Otherwise it's up to you - how lucky do you feel? If somebody falls over your tripod and hurts themselves, expect the worst. Part of being a professional is not just turning in quality results, but being ready for every eventuality. Eventually, that eventuality will happen, be it a silly accident or equipment failure. I've seen Vinten video tripods suddenly capsize and miss somebody by an inch, and a light fall over and just miss a newly-restored E-Type Jaguar.stigmundfreud said:

I would imagine that the owners of the private land set the parameters, and the public either attend or not depending on whether they are happy with them.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
