ps3 online play????

having played all my time on xbox live, im in two minds whether to buy modern warfare 2 on the ps3 as it has free online play.

but.... lots of people say that the online play is crap.

well you guys know best..... so???

Never had any problems with online play, free connection, free voice chat (you can use any blu tooth headset) and no lag (360 used to lag like hell).

TBH, I can't tell the difference between the two. Live has little things like cross came invites (whoop de doo)

I my main game (COD4), it is identical even down to the host leaving game and connection interrupted problems.

Just get it on what platform most of your mates have.

The only difference I've figured out between my Xbox & PS3 is that I can't join session in progress on my PS3 I have to ask folk for an invite and sometimes it won't let me in so I have to re-start the machine.

I'll always play online on the Xbox just because the controller is better ergonomically. PS3 is going to be for bluray only methinks.

Both myself and my friends play COD4 online quite a lot and, even though the connection can occasionally be irritating, it doesn't ruin the experience at all. I've got MW2 ordered and can't wait. I do think it's better if you connect the PS3 via a wired connection (I use home plugs). It removes the variable nature of wireless connections.

Overall, it's great.

Yes I'll definitely be getting that. Hadn't ever had any specific desire to buy the console just for the game, but now that I do have the console it will be nice to try out the game and see if it lives up to the hype.

Never had any problems with PS3 online. I wouldn't be surprised if Xbox was slightly better, considering you have to pay for it, but I reckon you are spending too much time listening to cretinous fanboys.
