What is the normal expected mileage for a clutch assuming normal everyday useage (no trackdays)?

I am looking at buying a Tusc with 20k on the clock, still with original clutch and wondered how soon I may or maynot be faced with changing it.
Cheers..

Mine went at 18000. 2001 standard Tuscan. Normal everyday use, no trackdays, never ride the clutch in traffic or while stationary at the lights! Wasn't impressed, but apparently 'a part had failed' so warranty took care of the damage!!
Didn't stop me buying another Tuscan tho'

Clutch slave cylender is the main culprit - it is mounted inside the bell housing to keep it away from road bumps, weather etc - unfortunately it gets very hot in their and the seals perish - then you get to the problem, because it is inside the bell housing, you need to split the engine and gearbox to get at it! Makes it a bit pricey - mine went at the 36k service, not needed a new clutch yet (fingers crossed) so cannot comment on their expected life

Fortunately the clutch went on mine the day after i agreed purchase of the car. The previous owner footed the bill car was on 24K. If it does go shop around, the guy i bought it off got HHC to fit a racing clutch for cheeper than his orig dealer for a standard one. But to be honest i don't know the difference, all i know is that its lighter than the clutch in my g/f clio

Hi,

The clutch in my car went on christmas eve, the car is a 2000 19000 miles, bit miffed to say the least when it happened even more miffed when they told my the slave was needing done as well as the clutch. It is costing me around £1100 to get fixed

Mine went after 18K (I'm the second owner so I can't vouch for him) and also 500miles after its first re-build - £760.00 was the damage but it would have been nice if it had been checked whilst the lump was out
