Hi all, as we know the Ace Cafe London is a well established eatery for us cars enthusiasts but for us that live in the South west its pushing a good 2hr drive, even more for some. So wouldn't it be nice to have somewhere a bit closer?

We have recently taken base at TRENTs as the diner there and after having a few words we might beable to pull an Ace Cafe day off every sunday when the yard is shut.

The lot can take about 60 cars?? so there will be enough room to park.
Thanks to the boys their the floor is kept clean so no punctured tires.
It will have controlled access to keep out the boy racers.
On site facility's (toilets and on site catering)
And most importantly discount on pies wink.

So what we need is a show of hands to see who will be interested. The more that are interested the more likely they will let it happen. So form a line to show your support smile

Hmmm, it's a bit of a trek for me, but since you Bournemouth lot traipse to my neck for the Pub Club, I'd be happy to reciprocate (not this month though...)

Have to make sure they don't mistake the 216 for a boy racer car though if I haven't got the new one by then paperbag

I am potentially interested in this - I have just finished building my Ultima, and it is kept near Lymington, so Bournemouth would be a nice run out, weather permitting.

No excuse whatsoever, hell the last pubclub we even had some very charming people who weren't (at the time) PH'ers turning up, so you really need to pull your finger out tongue out

I live near TRENTs. Isnt it a scrap yard with no view out onto the road and in a particularly rough area? Where are we supposed to go for a drink / bite to eat? I wouldnt feel comfortable advertising my car in that area.

Not to shoot you down mate but some people might take offence if they dont know what they are being invited to. Would you park a Ferrari or Ultima there?

We are opening up the diner their and just thought it might be a good idea? Will get a few more bits done and take pictures so people can see. the advantage it has tho is being a compound so no one knows we are there so not bothered by anyone. Advertising your car in that area ? I see you at Towerpark all the time wink

Just a thought, if people dont want to stay their it could gauge as a meeting point for hoons. meet there in the morning, get filled up and then take off across the area if you want? Quite central to go either Wimborne out or Dorchester out, a few nice hoon roads.

I'd be up for something in the Bournemouth area. Have busy life of family duties but always eager to go to meets.
Not a particularly stylish location though....? Somewhere a bit more interesting would be good. Either way, a thumbs up for something in this area!

Im with you their. Lack the great overall appearance but really its the people that make it? Just annoys me the Goodwood or the Ace are rather far away. Having somwhere like that, not the prettiest of places would just get us all together but as I said dont have to stay there. Just a place to meet.

Like i said mate, and it wasnt a dig. I just dont think that a scrap yard is an ideal location for a meet. It seems that some other forum members have voiced the same opinion. There are loads of places to meet around this area, it just takes a bit of imagination to find the right one.

When have you seen me at tower park? I have parked there all of maybe 3 times in a year. Thats what the missus car is for. Too many door bangers and st drivers for my liking and the parking spaces are too small for the barge. Maybe you have seen me on the road, what car you driving?

I just think that it may not go down too well if say, a Lambo driver turns up (and it does happen) expecting a sea side venue with good food to hand and all he finds is an oily car park with cars stacked high all around. Not to mention all of Rossmore's baseball cap and pit bull toting crew turning up taking pics and leaning all over the paintwork. How long do you think it'll take before the penny drops and someone does a reg check to find his / her address? Burglary anyone?

Good venues bring little trouble for all.

I'll have a think and see what i can come up with because i also think that bournemouth needs a good car meet venue.

have you considered the Fish Inn near Ringwood? Decent car parking with good food, and because its beside the dual carriagway you wont get a million chavs turning up.

Yep you're not wrong!! Next one that falls on a date I can I will definitely be there. Been to plenty of breakfast club meets, just not a proper PH one.

As for the venue, I must admit I did think it a bit of an odd choice at first, but appreciate Damian for trying to get something going. The Lotus boys have quite a few runs starting at the pavilion in Bmouth, they then get the ferry over from Sandbanks and have a drive through the Purbecks into Swanage; could maybe find somewhere there for a bite to eat?

Drusillas Inn at Horton has had a few motoring events in its large car park over the summer. Maybe worth trying to get something fixed up out there !

Nice roads to get there as well !

Yeah I get you mate, not shouting back or anything. (hard to convey tone on here) I get what you mean though. Just its mine and my dads new little business so being a PH'er just trying to offer it to the rest of you. Just knowing from experience some places have gotten funny when all are cars turn up so a place run by a PH'er will be a bit more understanding.

But I can imagine from anyone else point of view the image you might get driving into it. As for the chavs that will be controlled to the PH lot only. The advantages of it being a closed of compound is that know one will know we are there.

But I am up for trying to find somewhere else in Bournemouth, can go for recognisances if you like?

I dont think us Dorset lot are as close as the Portsmouth or Bristol lot are. If you look at the member map there is an awful lot us down here!!!!

Sounds like a great idea to me, I am up for it.
Okay, so the location is not fantastic, but it is what you make it surely?

Anyway, a scrapyard makes for a great backdrop for photographs.

I was just thinking a scrapyard sounds quite industrial and a little appealing (mind, I drive a Rover...) - I don't know, just seems a little out of the ordinary and perhaps would give it an "underground enthusiasts" feel and some good photo ops.

Mind I'll happily go anywhere, I'm a bit of a location-slut...
