Which is the better camera

[Kneetrembler]

I would like to buy a new camera and would like to have the benefit of something a little bit better than a standard Canon Ixus, but do not wish to carry around a SLR Camera and have looked at various cameras and these to a rank amateur such as myself would seem to satisfy what I am looking for.

Your opinions and comments would be appreciated or other suggestions likewise.

Canon Powershot SX200 or Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 which I presume is the latest model

I will have a look and a play at work tomorrow and report back.

Have you considered the Canon Sureshot G10?

My FiL has one, and the shots it produces are amazing. Very good at macro too.

Many thanks, look forward to your response.

I have a Panasonic and love it, but Canon have a very good reputation for their small cameras. Go with the one you prefer to hold/use. Specs are less important than feel.

I'd look at a canon powershot G11. I have a G10, and in good light it can give fantastic images. The G11 looks like it tips the mega-pixel mania in the G10 back towards better high ISO performance and should be a great device.

Have a look on the dpreviews website. You can look up most cameras and get very sound comments; good and bad.
