Where would the best place be to buy an alloy wheel for my 2009 JC Type 25 SC?

Thanks, I did think about going to a dealer but you can pay through the nose going down that avenue.
I should have said.............'without using/paying dealer prices'

Thanks

strange question?

what kind of wheels are you after or do you just mean replacement OEM ones?

Why is it a strange question?? and it's 'Wheel' not 'wheels'.
As in your name, I've 'scuffed' the rear offside alloy quite bad and no amount of filler is going to help repair it, so I'm looking for a replacement, I don't know of another way to put it!
Cheers.

Have you thought of stealing one?

Quite popular in some areas I'm told.

Are you sure your wheel is completely beyond repair - I had a really deep gouge on one of my VX wheels which my refurbisher mended, the finish was spot-on and looks brand new.

The JC wheels have a special paint job - you want one the same either you have to hope for a secondhand one coming up, see www.seloc.org but don't hold your breath, or you go to a Lotus dealer and buy one. End of.

Only other option is to change the wheels entirely, if you go with forged jobbies then you're probably back to one of the Lotus dealers again, if you go for after market then there are plenty of options availaible - again see www.seloc.org

Change the wheels though and expect questions to be asked as to why and to get less for the car should you come to sell.

And you put this in the wrong place - try the Lotus Elise/Exige forum on here.

Thanks a lot so far. Here is a pic of damage, it may be repairable but I thought it might put the balance of the wheel out if filler is applied. It’s well gouged out and deep.
What do you think? Get it repaired?

Many thanks for your help so far!

Thanks a lot Stephanie.

P.S I did put this on the Elise/Exige forum and It was there for two days without a single reply, I had more success this way.

Rub down with wet and dry - mask up prime and the best rattle can match - TBH thats mild for kerbing

That's in better condition than mine when I had them done - mine was a proper deep gouge out of the face of the wheel.

I got mine refurbed at http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk - Fareham branch. Four wheels for £270. However, if the Type 25 wheels have special colour on then I don't know where this leaves you.

I think they are painted, anyway I feel a little more reassured about it being repaired, many thanks.

This thread has now been moved to the dark room where very few folk hang out! Where's the light switch?

An easy repair, you don't need a new wheel.
