I have recently sold my Chimaera due to an anticipated lack of use over the next few months.

However this leaves the door open for another "fun" car for next year and with it taking me on average about 5-6 months to find the right car, it's worth me sorting out the pro's and cons of each model now.

I have always had a fond spot for the Tuscan/T350, are the speed six units really as unreliable as I have heard? If it really is a case of engine re-builds every 15-20k, then this is automatically excluded. If they don't, then can you tell me what they are like to drive (are they a little more nimble?), any typical traits that I wouldn't have picked up with the Chim?

Also the Cerbera appeals, but my friend had a low mileage 1998 4.2 Cerbera in his possession that decided to eat it's camshaft. Are the 4.5 units stronger, when would you have to expect to rebuild one of these?

Thanks biggrin

Nothing constructive to add, but I'm lurking for much the same reason. Still regret selling the TVR and in a year or so I will be back! smile

My personal take is it's best to try something new - different number of cylinders maybe?

I had a rebuild on mine at 48k (preventative rather than needed) but there are several out there with 80-100k (PHer BCA for one) and not needed a rebuild yet.

Im not sure if there is really that much in it between the 4.2 and the 4.5. Its a case of 'if you're lucky, you're lucky'

But, if you bought a Cerb, we'd even let you come on one of our infamous Euro jaunts winkdriving
