Mods - please leave here for a while for a big audience.

Does anyone know any specialists in insuring unoccupied houses that are for sale? Seems to be monumentally expensive and you can't pay on a monthly basis. Direct-line don't even want to know.

Any help much appreciated.

Try Oval Insurance Brokers. They can get you cover with an insurer, I think call towergate. Cost a bit more than normal household though, as empty properties are seen as a higher risk.

Many thanks everyone. Now sorted. Managed to bully direct line. They had to speak to underwriters. Just shows you get a different answer each time you ring these companies. Yesterday it was a flat no.
