Hi,

The dash on 84-89 'Vettes...how reliable are they? Do things go wrong? Expensive to repair?

Stiej - I've heard that there is a degree of unreliability, time related, to the digital dash, it's just what I've heard. But as for my own experience, the dash on my 4+3 84 went out. It was a long time ago now and there wasn't much help around. I was lucky enough to pick one up for a bargain, there was no guarantee the replacement would work. It did, so great. My only other alternative at the time was to send the dash over to the US under an exchange deal plus lot's of dosh. However, shortly after I got it back up and running another CCCUK 84 owner had his dash go down but being cleverer than me he fixed it himself, basically by resoldering every connection on the board.

Dash's like JT points out are not beyond most people to fix as long as youve got time and patience,,a matter of finding the screws that hold the dash together then unplugging the particular pod and investigating it,,good thing is so many C4's were made that there is a good market in 2nd hand aswell as new spares.
