Good evening,
I am a new owner of a 1973 Truimph Stag. I wish to have the original bumpers re-chromed and I am very confused about what to do or where to go.

Rimmer bros offer replacements but not sure if this is the way to go in terms of quality and cost.

Has anyone had good experiences with a re-chroming house that produce results that do not pit or rust within a year or two.

Ideally around the herts area but travel not a big problem.

Regards

Hi;

This probably just causes more confusion but you can get stainless steel bumpers:

obviously they should not rust/pit. The problem with chroming is they can't use cyanide (and presumably some other chemicals) anymore which makes life difficult. If I was going to have this done I'd phone someone that does a lot of restorations, but doesn't do chroming themselves and ask who they use.

Welcome to Stag ownership, it's a bit of a rollercoaster....
