I haven't seen any indications regarding expected reliability of the aerodynamic flaps etc in real world use. Reliability may be influenced by whether they are activated electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically. Is there any inside track on the systems used.

Arent they only meant to be up when the engine is in need of extra cooling to avoid over-heating>? IF so, its TVR - they'll be fixed obviously. Open.
