Changing from linear to radial centre console switches

Hiya

Does anyone know if it's possible to simply remove the centre console and fascia and replace with a different one with the radial rather than up/down/linear switches?

I've seen S3's with the radial style and they do look and feel a lot nicer. My linear ones are really dodgy and barely work and I'd quite like to source a replacement console and was wondering if it's just a simple unclip of the connecting wires, or whether it's a bit more involved than that?

I think this is possible - in fact I think some of the early S3 had rotary switches.
Can anyone confirm?

My S3 has rotary switches...in fact silver leven ones and matching silver around the dash dials..!!
I suspect that the connectors will be different...mine have 2 and 3 spade connectors that fit to the back of the switches....not sure what your linear slider ones are?

Isnt the dash panel holding the switches different as well, dont know the S3 but i thought it was a sperate veneered panel?
