You little ripper, ITV have "secured" the deal to show the WRC this year www.itv-f1.com/news/news_story/19342.

I guess a lot of us knew that Channel4 didn't want the show/commiment this year, and I was worrying if a terrestial channel would snap it up. Well done ITV, hust hope they do a better job of it that C4!

Not sure this is good news.

ui liked the C4 rallying programmes (apart from the time schedules) but letting James Allen anywhere near it would be distarious.

The thought of him moaning that a rally car might have better traction in the wet then his beloved Ferrari F1 car....

oh, I didn't actually think that far ahead I liked the sound of garunteed time slots

I was personally hoping they'd keep the same team.

much of the coverage and on screen displays are done by WRC themselves (hence why Eurosport coverage is near identical), so hopefully the core bits will be the same, well hopefully much better.

Its the studio chit chat you need to be worried about, lets hope we dont get Jim "Football next on ITV" Rosential.

Seconded. If I have to sit and watch James Allen screw up the WRC with his over dramatic annoying laugh and hollering at such inconsequential events as he does in F1, I will be rather upset.

Production of the coverage remains in the hands of Chrysalis TV, which produced the Channel 4 footage. The presentation team for the new programme has not yet been finalised – an announcement is expected in around a week's time.

Sounds quite promising that the format won't change massively then, just that I won't have to be an insomniac to watch it!!

It's just a shame that the FIA have done everything in their power to make the season st this year.

I vote for:

Less James "Schumacher owns this place, literally" Allen.
Less Penny "I pretend to know nothing about rallying, despite being a top British driver" Mallory.

...and maybe just a bit (more) of Beverley Turner, who quite frankly can say anything she wants

Why does Penny hide her rallying credentials? I saw a synopsis of Driven, now that it's on Satellite, and it said "Whatshisface, a performance car driver, Matey boy, a used-car salesman, and Penny, who drives cars..." or something equally unimpressive...

Apparently she was the first woman to compete in a WRC car. Does this sound like a crap driver to you?
