200 mph TVR

Referring back to the 'cheapest way to 200mph' there has been alot of references to the Cerbera maybe I am missing something though has this been achieved and by anyone on here it seems alot of people mention its a good way but cannot find much when searching..

I think the later TVR's reviews stated "top speed 180+" I am also sure I read/heard somewhere that the later cars would hit 200 if given enough room

No standard TVR has enough horsepower to hit 200mph. Its all about the power to push the car through the air at that speed. I think you will need 450+ hp since the frontal area is quite small and streamlined (not sure about whether the car will stick to the road though...). Most 'normal' cars need 500hp+

Main problem will be the lift generated at that speed. Especially the front axle is prone to that from my point of view. There is no sufficient underbody plating to avoid that.

hmm you'd need a pretty long diff to reach 200mph could be fun to try tho , mine was bouncing off the rev limiter in 5th gear at Spa last year

I think it could easily be done in a Tuscan S or Cerby 4.5 with enough room, a whiff of NOS and the right diff ratio. You'd need to pay some attention to underbody aero though.

Sagaris is no good as it's not very aerodynamic so would need loads more power.

Limiter?

200mph in 5th is 7280 rpm with standard gear ration. I believe the cerb could do this. Ive seen 192mph but ran out of space.

Mind you, my road angel verified cerbera is the fastest TVR

J.E. said my engine was good for 7500rpm, but the Rotrex charger is geared for 6k rpm so so my limiter is set to 6500rpm (shhh don't tell SC-Power ) Which all means I'm probably maxing out at around 170-175mph

Very, very close though. And that's with 2 adults and the car rammed full of snowboarding holiday gear.

The factory had a Tuscan S to 188 mph on the autobahn in germany before the lower spoiler snapped off. The yellow press Cerbera hit 200 mph but it had a 4.7 development engine fitted at the time.
