yeah but that seems like an awful lot of crap coming up, i really dont think i'd of took mine on track if it was in that state. have only done donington (not in elise) no airfield days so have nothing to compare as to whether this would be normal or not but seems like too much for me to risk it (dont have armourfend, really need to save up for it i suppose), maybe the velocity being travelled exagerrated things as does seem to have a lean on

Been on four Car Limits days now and never had a problem with stone chips.
Agreed the tarmac is a little 'dusty' but that helps as it's closer to real road conditions and helps the learning experience.
Also you need to remember that there is only one car running at a time so the only stones are from your own wheels, so as long as you've got the usual wheel arch protection - no issue, simples

You can see from the rest of the pics that the surface isn't generally like that:

It was just some cement dust or similar, looked like it had been put there deliberately by Andy to mop up some oil or something.

Walshy (Carlimits) only operates from North Weald which is just off the northern side of the M25.
He's been looking for other sites for ages but hasn't been able to find anything suitable so people travel to North Weald from all over the country (Europe in fact).
A day with Walshy will teach more than you can ever learn on umpteen track days. Walshy will get you to delberately (and safely) take your car beyond its limits and then teach you how to recover the situation. He'll even teach you how to do that and come to a controlled stop at the same time. That alone may save your or somebody elses life. It also gives a greater practical understanding off the car's dynamics and is huge fun.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I need to sell on my CarLimits 4-person day space for this Thursday (8th October) as my TVR has broken yet again (need a new steering rack
). If someone wants the place I'd let it go for a little less than I paid (£199). It is currently showing as being available on the web site so either go ahead and book it through there or contact me.
I intend on booking again later on in the month when hopefully my car will be on the road again! I've been on many driver training days with Andy and I can thoroughly recommend them!
