What voltage should the meter read when the red 'charge' light is still on before revving the engine?

My volt meter sits around 15 volts (everything off) to 13 volts (lights, heater etc on) once charging, but before I rev to 2K to get it charging, it is now reading in the the red.

I cannot for the life of me remember if that's always been the case, or if I'm just not using the car for long enough periods in order for the battery to charge.

Car starting fine, on first ignition turn.

It sounds like standard 2.9 behaviour.. is it a 2.9..?

I understand it does no charging until the engine has been taken above 2500 RPM or so..

Yes, its a 2.9

I'm aware that no charging takes place until 2K revs, but I'm "fairly sure"* in the past it didn't sit in the red before charging starts.

Had a lovely week up in the Peak District and it was fantastic to have lots of time with my 19 month old (Err, and the wife) but HOW MUCH DID I MISS THE S. Lovely roads up there.

I was determined to make the pub meet in October, but it is on our wedding anniversary, so not sure if it is such a great idea

BTW MOT booked for Saturday 9am. Listen out for me doing "pre-MOT warmup" down the M40 @ 8am

Mine is the same as this

Mine reads just below 12v until the charge kicks in...
