Got a shock today got my full renewal today from hagerty.
As i was halfway with my insurance when i bought my T350 did'nt know my full renewal price.
47 2nd car 4k limit garaged chim was £220 now £380 quiet a hike.
Phoned mannings they want £600 but that does include extras.
What i don't get my first car Audi A6 business use etc £400 similiar value but not as nickable/rare just doesn't add up to me.
Is this the norm has premiums shot up or am i paying the price for a newer and quicker car.

Just paid my renewal with haggerty's and it's hardly gone up at all! On another note they have a fantastic deal on european breakdown cover this year too!

"More Than" wouldn't change my insurance to a Tiv...

"More Than Select" were £887 for a 4.0HC Chim...

"Confused.com" were just laughable (£1,025 premium with £1,500 excess)...

"Direct Line" were £356 with protected NCD. biggrin

See the chim is all round the best car , its even cheaper on insurance hehe

Just to rub it in my hagerty renewal came to about £50 less this year for the chim .

Dont forget to mention you are in the TVRCC when using hagerty, you get a small (but worthwhile) discount.

Nope, mine went up by a bit as well. Not quite as much, but still a little.

Having said that elephant increased the premium on my Elise from £600 (28, 11 NCB (protected), garaged) to nearly £2k, due to a fire claim.

The operator seemed genuinely surprised that I didn't think this was competitive.

Went with Richard Eggar, for £400.

Hagerty also told me today that they now only insure over 30's!!!!!!! What a joke and very ageist

Certainly wasnt over 30's when I called last year so must have changed fairly recently.

Spoke to hagerty today and there reason for a sudden increase was that they were too cheap compared with there competeters.
And they still are the cheapest.
Oh well have to cough up thenbiggrin

Hagerty were far cheaper for me, went up marginally this year I think, but that was 3-4 months ago so there could have been a hike since.

I understand the underwriters put the age limit up, but I could be wrong. Last year I could've put my 19 year old on the wedge for just a few £.

We were told this happened about December last year; two weeks before we phoned them for a quote. As I'm 28, that was us stuffed! Went with A-plan instead and got a really good quote.

Guess I'll have to wait a couple of years before trying Hagerty again!

Sounds to me the insurance companies have got wind of how you drive Paul winklaugh

Here are my recent quotes

The cars are Tuscan 4.0 & Cerbera 4.0, both 2001, both garaged. No insurance claims for over 7 years. Limited milage of 3000 miles for each car.

Adrian Flux : Could not do a multi-car policy. £450 excess. Underwritten by Aviva. Price - Tuscan £303.25, Cerbera £400.31.
Total price for both cars - £703.56

A-One : Multi-car policy. £250 excess (putting it up made no difference). Underwritten by Classicline.
Total price for both cars - £662.00

A Manning : Multicar discount. £550 excess. Underwritten by Allianz. Including the now compulsory Accident Management Fee of £24 per car!
Total price for both cars - £646.00

Hagerty : Multicar policy. £350 excess. Free breakdown cover (although I didn't need it). Underwritten by Allianz
Total price for both cars - £524.37

Hagerty's price is an average of £262.19 per car.

Hagerty were also the easiest and quickest to deal with. All were pleasant on the phone but the A Flux quote was pretty convoluted to get (I listened to a fair bit of music whilst on hold).

Overall Hagerty came out best.

Its a good job they didn't see your youthful looks Dave and that you still find it difficult to get served in pubs smile

Went with Admiral believe it or not a few months back - I saved a huge amount.

3 cars insured for just over £500 quid on their multi car policy.

Might be worth a try.

Multicar or family fleet policies are unbeatable. We save a fortune - through Sunninghill.
