Painted my seat backs.

Well I spent the last few days tinkering away at the Academy of Motor Engineering in Guildford. Great place where you can hire what tools you need in their fully fitted workshops and bays, used to teach apprentices but no students this year. I can pass you on the number you want to speak to Francis there and arrange to pop over.
I decided to repaint my seat backs body colored, the drivers was broken so it needed something doing to it anyway. So the colour is now starmist blue. £43 per ltr
Well here is the result, very happy with the finish, took a bit more time over it as it was my first time, and I wanted to learn the skills.

Its about £10-15 per hour, thats for ramps, tyre machines, welders pretty much every tool you can think of. Francis is also a top bodywork man himself and happy to lend a hand or take whole job on. he worked for Panther cars for many years, and also With Racing Green as a sprayer of Jags before they got their own set-up. How much do they charge to hire the place out?

Yes they offer welding and im sure some instruction, I'm doing my back boxes next week They do mig/tig/gas and have plasma cutters too Francis is currently repaneling a Mini cooper, sills and wings, master at it, makes it look so easy.

Its just what it was called when teaching students and will be again in the future hopefully, just for now its being opened up for others to make use of.Also has 4 wheel alignment, wheel balance machine, two 2 post ramps a 4 post, scissor lift ramp, bike bay.

Do you think it will scratch easy? It wont scratch any easier than the rest of the car, it has around 3 coats of HS clear coat on it.
Will it crack with the flexing as you sit back in the seat etc? I used a plastic primer base coat to allow flex.
