I got this reply from the hotel today. Book using the group booking "car club trip" as detailed below, either by phone (code for Germany is +49), or by e-mail at the address below.

Thanks for the request. We are pleased to offer the following:

Arrival: 09th July 2004
Departure: 11th July 2004
Rooms: 10 rooms for single or twin use per day

Weekend-Rate:
EUR 60,00 per single room incl. breakfast buffet
EUR 81,00 per twin room incl. breakfast buffet

Each person can book the rooms directly. Rooms need to be guaranteed through credit card only.
Each room will be confirmed via email or fax with our cancellation policy..

If this offer meets your approval please confirm by return. After receiving your answer we will block 10 rooms for "car club trip" with a deadline up to 15th may 2004.

Got my confirmation today for the 3 night booking. Their confirmation says method of payment: "Pay in hotel". Anyone already paid theirs by credit card?

Malc - I gave them my credit card details and was expecting them to take a payment but nothing showed on the last statement.

They did this at the Hotel at Elvington,they took the CC No for security when i booked and then when i arrived there they did the transaction.

Hi Richard, I'm sure someone (Gixer?) said yesterday or on Tuesday (Surrey meet) that they emailed credit card details but the confirmation I received implies they'll take payment when we get there. I've just emailed the hotel again to check.

I've asked for 3 nights as the Nurburgring event has appernetly been cancelled (or moved to another date).

Yeah payment is usually at check out. They just hold your details for the room - like in the US.

This may be a dumb question but if the race at the Nurburgring has been moved, would there have been a chance of driving our cars round it that weekend ??

Have updated the booking to THREE nights as the Nurburgring 1000KM race has been moved forward one week. Got a confirmation back from the hotel today saying that the following have now booked and that we are all booked for the extra night of the Sunday as well now.

Those booked into the hotel are:

Joel English (Viper)
Malcolm May (Callaway Vette)
Paul Lacey (Viper)
Richard Rogers (C5 Corvette)
Brett Grant (ZR1 Corvette)
Me (Z06 Corvette)

Therefore there are FOUR rooms left on the allocation but if more than 4 rooms are required we can increase this if needed.
