Hello, lately i've been getting hundred's of messages on ps3 saying that Activision are ending their contract with ps3 meaning that MW:2 will be the last COD title on the ps3. Is this just a rumour because these messages are really pissing me off or is it true. There is also a rumour PS3 might be getting Halo. Could anyone please shead any light on this,
cheers

Don't know about COD, but I would be gobsmacked if MS give up Halo to the PS3 !!

Not that they won't, but if I were betting someone elses money, I would say that Halo will never see the light of day on the PS3.

Maybe the COD thing has come about after Activision gave the map pack exclusive to the 360, although, IIRC, it was only a time thing and it will come to the PS3 eventually ?

Edit to say, Activision make the game one year, Treyarch (sp?) the next, so even if Activision drop the PS3 (highly doubt it), there should still be games from Treyarch.

I don't know, it might make quite good marketing sense for them to bring out previous Halo games on the PS3 - that way they're getting money for old rope and I certainly wouldn't put that past them.

Very doubtful that the newest Halo Titles (Reach particularly) would come out on the PS3 though as that's always been a USP of the 360 for many people.

Bobby Kotick the man in charge at Activision said this earlier in the year:
I’m getting concerned about Sony; the PlayStation 3 is losing a bit of momentum and they don’t make it easy for me to support the platform. It’s expensive to develop for the console, and the Wii and the Xbox are just selling better. Games generate a better return on invested capital on the Xbox than on the PlayStation.
. . .
They have to cut the price, because if they don’t, the attach rates are likely to slow. If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony. When we look at 2010 and 2011, we might want to consider if we support the console — and the PSP too.
But there is nothing concrete to suggest they're going to stop supporting it.

As for Halo coming to PS3, that won't happen, but Bungie who made it are no longer owned by Microsoft, so there is nothing to stop them making a new IP for the PS3.
