Sequential Gearbox

Still on the paneling stage, but thinking about the gearbox, it would be great to know how many of you guys are using a sequential one. Is it from Ricardo, Quafie?

I stand to be corrected but I don't believe anyone has used a sequential 'box.

I'm a mess!I mean, I've been advised that the G50 with the rod linkage on a LHD is not the best option, so I started to look for cables. Not conviced, I found about using the 996TT adapted to a 2wd, but fot this price I could afford a sequential gearbox.

In conclusion, I would like the strenght of the G50 with the suposed "feeling" of the getrag. Is that possible??

btw, I'm plannig to use an LS7 with 565 bhp (no 1000s needed . That is, if GM and the EURO 5 permits it...

the 996TT box is a Getrag box with the largest (strngest) G50 internals, this box is also in the GT2 and GT3 both of which are 2wd boxs as std... Im using the GT3 box and the adapter plate etc is all the same as a std G50 however it has the nice cable change of a getrag.... these boxs can be converted to sequential which is what canamdave has done.
They cost more than double what an average G50 will but only about a 3rd more than a G50/52 which is the large diff G50 and thus equivelent in its power capacity (not all G50s are equal, a lot have small diffs which are not quite as strong).

Basically your choice of box is not simple and is going to take quite a bit of searching if you looking for the right one at the right price.

I just bought a G96/88 (996 GT2 gearbox) with racing ratios from GT3 Cup and GT1 LSD...
but not cheap !!! € 8,800 plus shipping...
Six speed and cable shift, last ratio is 0,75.
I guess a (not real) sequential system used with Porsche gearbox could be found here :

I've allready made the mistake to order to TRMV8 (Tim Madge) and lost time and money.
No more.
I just have to find now an adaptater plate to fit this box to my LS7...

Why do you need an adaptor plate to fit the LS7? Is it different than the usual adaptor plates that are used with other G50?

I need one because my actual gearbox is a Getrag, 6 speed, cable shifted, not a G50...
And the factory sells 2 different adaptaters for these boxes so i guess i need one for a G50. Hope the flywheel which is sold with the adaptater plate will fit too !

Are you satisfied with your box ? And with which engine is it used (power and torque) ?
