Reccomend me a course!

Would like to learn some basic stuff regarding photography and am looking at an evening class...
As most seem to be starting about now I might have left it too late however I will call tomorrow and find out!
Can anyone comment on a course that they have done? Looking at a basic intro to photography really.
Local college has this:
Course type Part time evening
Start 16-Sep-09, 06-Jan-10, 21-Apr-10
Duration 10 weeks
Course Description
This course is suitable for those want to learn about the world of digital photography. Students will look at basic picture taking techniques, the range of cameras available and finally, using PhotoShop, make that memorable picture worth a thousand words.
You dont get anything to show for it (grade wise) however I'm guessing it's maybe what I want?
Any experience in evening courses?
