Car Covers...

Not sure if I'll get deleted for this - but can I just say what a nice bunch the chaps at Cover-Zone are!

I've got an indoor cover, which is like a fitted quilt for her... and had the Monsoon - for outdoors. Not cheap, fair enough, but after 12 months, given the weather we've had (blazing sun and a serious dump of snow) the cover started to disintegrate - literally.

Now, to be fair, I'd probably got "not quite the right cover" to be out on her most days, but having explained to the chaps, they are providing me a replacement, for an insignificant amount just to "cover the difference".

Why can't everyone have such customer focus and service...

That's good to know - I have the same cover (Monsoon)and it's been great so far (5 months). Amazing as no matter how heavy the rain, car stays bone dry underneath.

The issue with my Monsoon was that it struggled (we think) with extended periods in strong sunshine, more than the heavy rain.

If its outdoors a lot, consider the Typhoon, which is what I'm upgrading to.

I'll let you know how it turns out when it arrives on Wednesday!

We have had a CoverZone 'Stormforce' cover on our Griff parked outside all year for the last 2 years! I can't praise it enough....all that snow, the sun (yes we have had quite alot!) etc, the cover goes right to the floor so no rusty brakes, tyres have not perished etc etc.

Also they are a great company to deal with! Keep it up guys!

Well... it doesn't look quite as I'd imagined! My first impressions were "sponge-like"

I'm sure its just some super hi-tec fabric weave

Strange one, I intend (unfortunately) to park my car on a quiet side road where i live, i want to put my car cover on it, but was wondering what the situation is with showing your reg plate, car tax disc and parking permit (live in london). Thanks

Dont know about cars, with bikes, if you have a cover over the bike that happens to cover the tax disc location, or number plate location, they are not allowed to lift the cover to check, and have to assume they are OK. Not sure where they would stick a ticket, or (if the cover was well tired down and could not be lifted) how they would get the number plate.
There is a car parked ( and well covered) near where I work, central London, that does not appear to have moved for ages.

Thanks Big Dunk, basically we live a rediculously beruacratic country. I have called the DVLA, the Department of transport and my local authority. Each one has told me to speak to the other gov agency, ie no one knows and are passing the buck. Will chance it, but i will kick off big time if the car is clamped or towed!
