I have recently applied to join the 750 Motor Club and I'm looking at building a car for one of the 750MC's classes, probably Sports 1000 or the 750 Formula. As I would be new to this sort of racing I wondered if anyone knew of any newsgroups or discussion forums aimed at constructors. I have had a good look around the 'net and I can't find anything appropriate.

It surprised me that the 750MC didn't have a forum on its site, to be honest and I thought one of you chaps might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

lol!

Welcome to the world of the 750MC.

I have raced Locost for 3 years and built up a decent website and forum which proved quite successful.

Sports 1000 is struggling to get off the ground. There's so little interest (or so is my impression) that you'll struggle to get other competitors online.

Thing is, most racers spend all their time in the workshop rather than glued to a PC screen. Shame, as some very useful stuff has come out of the Locost racing forum especially when it comes to discussion of regulations/development of the formulae etc.

Shame it all falls on deaf ears at the 750MC though. But that's another story....

Thanks for the kind welcome. As for the low entry numbers, I was rather hoping that could turn to my advantage if I am able to sell parts, or even cars, without too much intense competition. I wait in hope

I certainly will. I may even call on you from time to time for assistance, if it's not too much bother.

Try the forums at www.ten-tenths.com

It's a uk based website with loads of chatter about club motorsport.

There is no Forum for the 750 Formula, but it is something being considered. If you need any help building a 750 Formula car, just say so and I will contact you directly. The 750 Formula has had a new lease of life recently, due to a change of engine (more reliable). It's very cheap to run a car, and the people in the formula are very helpful.
