Just signed up to Nike+, it's just the kind if geeky gimmick I need to help get motivated! So far I think it's quite good and I like to be able to visually track my runs. Really it was just an excuse to get the new Nano, but so far it's working!

Any tips?

I just did the same and love it. One thing I can't work out though...on the site there are workouts and training (er. Walk to Run where it takes you through 5 mins walking, 1 min running, 2 mins walking, 2 mins running etc). I get the impression that these can be transfered to the ipod (iphone in my case) and you can use them during your workout somehow. But I cannot figure out how to do it.

It seems a bit pointless if all the training routines are are just instructions on the website with nothing to do with the ipod/sensor tech.

I have been using this for 3 weeks now.

Cool gadget use it on every run (most days). I havent figured out if you can use the training thing. I started using the Couch to 3k as i have only just started running. This was quickly abandoned as within 2 weeks i was able to run 3 miles. When i go out now i try and beat my pace.

Currently 8.44 over 3 miles.

Also doing a challenge of 30 miles in 4 week . . 1 week in im 1/2 way through.

We can add a PH freinds list

Best thing I ever did was to buy the Nike + for my nano. Its really motivational and never run so far in my life. My problem is im too competitive and this settles that for me, or at least channels it to something useful.

Bit of a thread resurrection here, but how many PHers are using Nike+? Just signed up so have no friends (boohoo) - is it worth starting a new list, or at least updating this one?

I've just started using the Nike+ myself. I'm incredibly unfit at the moment and a good friend of mine suggested that I start running. Now then, I've never been very good at running even in my younger days but since I've started last week I am starting to feel a bit better and the Nike+ does motivate me. The down side is that I think I over did things Monday night and now my knees ache like buggery!

I've always used runkeeper pro - anyone used both? Is nike offering anything that RK doesnt?

I'm waiting to use Nike+ (it's free on the AppStore right now) as I can't run at the moment. RunKeeper is brilliant, but the additional 'Power Songs' and some other features mean Nike+ could be very good.

I've found Nike+ to be pretty good - and accurate, especially as I don't use the GPS due to my run being tree and building lined making the GPS distances unreliable. It could do with some enhancements like split times etc.
