Surrey Run V: The Return of the Driving - 18 Jan
Discussion
Its time to blow away those festive season cobwebs with a blast along the best driving roads in the south of England.
I'm planning a leisurely drive to start just after sunrise on Sunday 18 January close to J9 of the M25 and end at Racing Green (2-3 hours later) for a gawp at their collection of late Christmas presents (and who knows, maybe a cup of coffee as well).
This could also be a fun pre-cursor to the lunchtime meeting at The Royal Oak which is just down the road.
Everyone and anyone is welcome: reply to this thread or send me an email through my profile and I'll make sure that you get full details and directions for the run when they are ready.

Excellent Another Surrey Run I won't be driving Ruby, but will likely be navigating in an Octavia RS. Or driving my wee Golf 1.6 (with Copper Dog as navigator), if I can't get Phillip out of bed. Can we make it a semi-reasonable hour, for those of us coming from further afield?? Like Bucks? Please??

It won't be too early a start, given that it won't be light until about 8am.
If its still a problem for you then I'll get you the details of the hotel just up the road. Mind you, at the previous (earlier) start the Essex and Kent crews didn't have any trouble getting there on time - I guess its only a problem for 'Gentrified of Bucks'.
RiverGirrl said:Mmmm, depends just how large your ballpark is.
..so what time are you thinking of? I could handle leaving HW at 8am and meet up at 0830/0845...is this the ballpark time?
I think you'll need to set your alarm 1 hour earlier so you get to us at 07:45 for an 08:00 departure. That way we hopefully get to miss most of the traffic and have all of those lovely roads to ourselves. Oh, and as is traditional we'll be waking up Petworth: it just isn't the same if we arrive later in the morning.
I will be there with the camera and front facing camera mount to generate more shaky footage, but I do not think I will be doing a lean out of the car Gruffy special

I'll be teaming up with Luca once again, armed with the camera. Just hope it's not too cold to get those 'special' shots.
Jeremy,
I should be up for a "blast" in the countryside.
My beastie is going to be at Racing Green on the Friday before, having it's MOT. I optimistically tried to blag a test drive in the Sagaris. For some reason they said "No" - something about it being the only one and they'd be in big trouble if anything happen to it.
