Origin b2 GPS Reciever

Can anyone who has one of these little gizmos tell me where they installed the GPS receiver?
Go it all in but cannot pick up a satellite reading. On looking in the manual (Always a last resort) it states a minimum of three feet away from the unit with a clear view of the sky. I'm wondering if the metal in the dash of my Tuscan is interfering with it?????

I've a Griff, and the head unit is by the l/h dash airvent, and the gps sensor is on the dash in front of me. The thing works fine in this close proximity.
I have seen a cerb with the gps sensor in the back window though.

It's a great piece of kit, and has got me out of the p00 a couple of times. However currently trolling through e bay for a lrc 100.

How long are you giving it to pick up the satellites?

My Snooper S6-R takes an age sometimes, and I mean 25mins, it really depends on atmospherics, weather trees etc etc.

I understood that the initial satellite search may take a while but I've left it stationary for 30 mins with still no luck. I've got the LRC 100 attached OK but I think I'm going to move the receiver behind the seats and see how it get on there.

Left handside of the windscreen, next to the tax disc, underneath the left hand tip of the wiper blade (on the Tuscan). Also have the LRC100 fitted, excellent combo. Can take a few mins to lock initially...longer lock time the longer its switched off.

FYI my Road Angel can take 20 secs - 20 mins depending on 'stuff'

My Geodesy sometimes used to take a while to gain service, and would sometimes lose it whilst on the journey.

But at the end of the day, this is one of the reasons why I don't use it anymore. What's the use of something that takes 1/2 hr to get going?

I guess, unless you're travelling around the country and staying in hotels every night, you know the location of the camera in your own locality, the laser and radar detector still works even if the GPS looses sattelite lock on my Snooper.

I agree with you, it's very annoying that it can take so long to get a lock as I use mine as an accurate speedo, my Zed reading under by 10mph and the Chimaera 10mph over!

I have a Tuscan S and I use a Road Angel configured to a o2XDA that has Tom Tom Navigator software. The Road Angel is mounted in the centre of the dash directly beneath the windscreen. The RA unit is secured using BlueTack and behaves very well. Maximium time to recognise the satelites is less than a minute except when it's very cold and then take as long as five minutes. Hope this helps.

Changed the position of the receiver this morning to under the left hand wiper blade (Thanks Steve) and within a minute I had satellite lock and away I went. Just been out for a test run and it all works great. Speed reading on the B2 is equal to the Tuscans at low speeds but reads about 2mph under at about 85.
Matt from JVS did a great job in fitting it. Would definitely recommend him as a mobile Sparkie.
