It is easy to be indifferent to F1, and you might argue that other classes have become more entertaining.

But F1 remains the pinnacle and the subject of the most attention.

So what will happen this season?

Will Schumi be supreme ( and then retire?)

Will Montoya ever calm down enough to be consistent?

Will Schumacher junior remember to pay attention for an entire race rather than apparently nod off for 30 minutes in the middle?

Will Coulthard prove his doubters wrong?

Will Raikkonen ever use words with more than one syllable, and prove that he is not a Mclaren built animatronic robot?

And what of Barichello, will we get to see him cry again ( bless) ?

Predictions please....

Will I manage to stay awake through a whole race?
Will we get through a season without Bernie issuing a warning to Silverstonw?
Will Jim Rosenthal retire?
Will Lousie Goodman get arrested as a terrorist at an airport becuase all her metal bangles etc set off all the metal detectors at the airport?
Will James Allen just go away?
Which F1 teams will go bust?
Will attendance at the Goodwood Revival meeting outstrip the British Grand Prix?
Will Murray make a come back?

Here's mine:

Button wins first GP - genuine contender for championship but doesn't get it. Top 3 at the end of the year.

Coulthard replaced by Wurz by the time we get to Silverstone. Possibly replaces Red Bull man at Jag for remainder of season.

Ford pull the plug on Jaguar at the end of the year.

First words uttered by Jim Rossential on the first F1 programme are "g'day" (in Aussie accent!)

Jordan improve.

Toyota win a race.

Renault don't!

Minardi - same as.

McLaren - same as.

Ferrari loose it - big time!

Massive pile up in first few races. Inexperienced drivers to blame and calls ring out for investigation into the wiseness of such drivers in F1.

Williams blitzs both championships. Either driver takes the title.

Brundle punches Allen live on air.

Two celebrities will swear on Brundle's grid walk.

After several years trying, F1 Racing Magazine will finally succeed in showing more pictures of the journalists interviewing people than the people they are interviewing whilst explaining the hardship they had to endure, flying first-class to some exotic location to write a two page article on some F1 superstar in "training".....but it's all for our own benefit so that's OK!

Rubens cries.

Monty farts in a post race press conference but blames Kimi.

Dubai is a shambles - cameras sieze because of the sand.

China proves to be a revalation.

The burgers at Silverstone will taste like poo.

....you heard it here first.

All sounds quite plausible actually...

Not sure that Ferrari will lose it though...

And try as I might I cannot see Ralf being consistent enough in the williams..

Oh and Jim Rosenthal will certainly say g'day at some stage in the Aussie GP.

And if James Allen uses the word "mesmorising" once more I swear that I will fly to the next GP and lamp him personally...

You forgot:

Will the FIA change the rules to fit in with whatever Ferrari want to do?
Will the FIA change the rules halfway through the season to stop McLaren/Williams doing something that has been passed before the season started?

Oh, and will anyone give a fk?

David Coultard will start off the season saying "this is my year. I'm going to win the Championship".
After a few races he'll say "well, we got off to a bad start, but it is just a minor setback and I'm still going to win".
After a few more races he'll say "It hasn't gone as well as I'd hoped... blah blah... reliability... blah blah... etc."
In the last quarter of the season he'll say "My championship hopes are over so I'm going to be concentrating on helping my team mate for the rest of the season"
At the end of the season he'll say "Next year will be my year. I'm going to win the Championship next year"

It's the same script he's been using for years. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My predictions are as follow:

BAR will not win a GP this year (or probably ever...)

The new Williams will be the ugliest car ever to grace a grid

Coulthard will once again be happy to finish behind the car(s) in front

Montoya will not be in the Williams - something will happen to keep him out of it

Jordan will be ecstatic if they end the season with more points than Minardi

Allan McNish will be testing for a top team

Alonso rumours expand to a drive with Ferrari in 2005

Sauber win a race

Button just manages to get on the podium

Toyota do extremely well, chasing the top 3 teams in the championship battle

Renault go through a period of unreliability mainly concerning electrics (systems) and gearboxes

Barrichello world champion, Williams constructors champions.

I will still sleep through most of the races, and Motogp will have more overtaking in the first 10 laps of the first race, than F1 wil have in the entire season.

With Montoya already signed up to McLaren for 2005, chances are that both he and DC will be watching the race on TV before the season end.
