At least now we'll have motorsports taking place there and not housing developments!

He was an average race driver, but as it turned out a very canny businessman it seems.
The saviour of UK motorsport? After all, I do worry about the way that many circuits are run, apparently by drivers clubs and the old boys in blazers..
Palmer is a hard nosed and experienced businessman who knows how to satisfy the City. Investment banks should like him.
Could be good..

I for one am very happy about this. Hopefully he will listen to what the fans want, and keep some initiatives that have worked, like the £100 season ticket. And hopefully he'll promote the bigger meetings at the tracks, such as BTCC, GT-F3 etc. Brings in the money so that fully payed up saddos like me can go to Oulton every week to watch top quality club racing.

Yeah, Oulton Park holds very fond memories for me, from around 1970, when me and my mates used to shin up over the wall near Dunlop Bridge, to avoid paying the admission to watch the "Anglo American transatlantic" match motorcycle races featuring such stars as Dick Mann, Kenny Roberts, Tom Arter and John "moon eyes" Cooper......
just wanted to say that i am very pleased about this as i think JP is a good bloke to be in control of the circuits. i think there is hope for the future of club motorsport in britain with someone like him in control.
on the subject of oulton park, my father has a stunning picture of ronnie peterson in a lotus 72 from one of the oulton park gold cup races in the seventies. its an a4 black and white picture just as ronnie starts to put some opposite lock on a right hander, dont know the corner but its a brilliant shot.

It's £125 this year (but excludes events at Silverstone). I got mine at the Rallycross event in November!
Mine paid for itself last year at the ChampCars and one BTCC meet! Won't be as good a value this year but still worth getting if you go to a lot of races.
I'm pleased to see Brands saved from the Sainsbury's thing but expect to see Snet' and Cadwell fade away over the next few years.

Couldn't get it up online anywhere could you?

I dunno, snet is one of the ones that actually makes money due to the almost unlimited testing available.
And cadwell has no other value apart from farm land.
Oulton is very restricted in the number of days it can run hence the fact that it now costs 14.5k for race day hire against snett at 8.5k.
Brands is very expensive at 18k...
the sainsburys reference was that the was a very real danger that Brands could have been lost to property developers...

Since I posted this, I've read a few interviews with JP that prove your point Graham.
