Today launched the new online game via google. Its based on google maps and is a variation of Monopoly working with Hasbro.

The basis is you have 3 Million to start with and can buy any street anywhere in the world! I managed to get on for about an hour after it launched but seems the servers cant handle all the interest so i can no longer get on, probably all the yanks using it!

You can build on your street and claim rent, but there are also chance cards where you can bulldoze and sabotage other peoples streets so they can no longer collect rent.

Anybody else managed it?!

Wow, after about 25 attempts, i finally made it to the opening screen, was almost deafened by the intro music. Clicked 'English', and then the bar steward timed out again.

Could do with a new distraction at work today as well! moan

Ah, that sucks.

Keeps loading to the same point for me, done it 3 times this morning, and every time I get another time-out.

Being a persistent SOB I finally managed to get on there and spent half an hour just trying to make it load the roads I was looking for.

I'm now the proud owner of the A320 between Woking and Guildford.

Yes, I ended up doing that as I wondered why it would be directing to an Apache test page... Link above is wrong. Should be http://www.monopolycitystreets.com

It seems to be running incredibly slow right now, most likely due to demand and server overload, but if it doesn't load, reload the page and see if it advances. Thats what i've been doing. Took me 20 odd attempts before i finally got to anything that resembled Monopoly.

Annoying this, I found the street I wanted before, no option to buy or anything, clicked on log in, but I have not created an account and there is no option to create one!

Going to leave it till next week I think, hopefully they should have it fixed by then!

I thought this originally. You have to select the street you want to buy, then click buy if it's available. Once you've clicked buy, it gives you the registration questions and then you can continue to purchase the street you want. I now have 2 but have to wait for my rent until tomorrow now.

I've only actually got to the point of buying a street once, since then the page just won't load, F5 has been my friend today but I just cant get on!

How do I know if I can buy the street, is there an icon to click on etc? I just typed in where I live, it bought the street up but I couldnt click anywhere on it!

find an area you want to buy, click on the wad of paper money icon to bring up a list of streets in the local area. if they are blue, you are too late, if they are purple then you can buy them.

Im not sure on best tactics for this game at the moment. it seems the more actions you make, the more likely you are to get chance cards. Ive bought 4 streets and a few building, ive had 3 cards, 1 was a hazard i plonked on a road i wanted but couldnt buy (sour grapes!) then i had 2 rewards which i placed on my most valuable streets, which i think prevents them from being attacked in the future, so i will concentrate building things on those 2 streets for now. also some streets seem to produce more rent than others, i dont know what this is based on though.
