I have a PW6 (standard def) Panasonic Plasma with VGA and Scart inputs.

I'm looking to buy either a PS3 slim or Xbox but am unsure whether these will work with the Plasma, out of the box so to speak.

Can anybody confirm/deny that the consoles come with a cable that will allow me to use the Panny, or do I need an adapter cable or worse still a converter box?

All is not lost as I have a hi-def Sony 26 LCD, but would prefer to use the plasma if possible, but without extra cost!

Xbox 360 will work on it, but you'll be missing out with not having HD!

Don't know about PS3 but I'd assume it'd work too...

PS3 comes as standard with scart so it will be fine! Should you buy an HDMI cable separately you have to set it to send in high definition on the PS3's settings.

I bet after seeing how rubbish it looks on the plasma, you will end up playing it on the 26incher in HD. In SD on a big telly you will notice all the jaggies, and the text in menus is just horrible.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll probably plump for the Xbox and use the Plasma via scart. The other option is to bring the Sony LCD downstairs if I want to play in hi-def.

(Urban_Ninja: I've had the PW6 plasma for a few years now, its wasn't a new purchase.)
