Engine is Back in the Hole.
Discussion
Yesterday saw the motor go back where she belongeth its been a long 4 months due to the logistics involved with getting the said parts in,but then weve all been there.
Absolutely spiffing is all i can say to describe Daniels handywork ,assisted by his dad .
The holes left by the removal of A/C and fan unit where sealed using CF ,a bracket was made to support the header tank and aftermarket jumbo sized radiator was grafted well into the area where stock rad used to sit,,with all pipes, condenser, compressor etc now dearly departed it is amazing how much room can be had to let the beast breath&cool itself ,indeed with fan unit out the gills on the opposite side to the battery will now be fully functional.
Still a bit of a way to go yet but once injectors are back from 'the cleaners' and plenum is installed it should be next week that she takes her 1st breath of life.

Sounds good and must be making your juices run at the prospect at getting behind the wheel of the beast . A question arises though . As Cobham is in the heart of the Surrey suburban belt and noise abatement is rife, have the Surrey Vettes to find a new venue to accomodate the sound levels which this beast will unleash or are you going to strangle it with a 'legal' exhaust system?

Sounds good Cliff. Well done on the progress.
The only way to get around noise regs is:
-Get a noise adjustble exhaust (noise level activated by a knob, which opens or closes a flap, which controls the noise level).
-Don't get the exhaust catted - this will keep noise to a minimum, but I believe this constipates the engine (there was a legitimate sounding theory posted by a Viper, ok not Vette, tuner).
And how bad are the noise regs where you live, ZR1? Sound levels can't always be monitored. And if you like loud cars (which, well, I do), then you shouldn't have to change what you are looking for from a car which you spent with your own money just because someone doesn't like it.

I live in a close with old folk bungalows down each side, i dont think they mind cos it makes them feel young and i just warn em if i go out early.
Should sound more or less the same chaps cos ime gonna put the 2 and a half inch corsas back on,then ime gonna get a 3" system, bad news is its gonna get quieter because of some track regs but the 3" should be better on performance than the corsas so ile be there next summer Colin

I know this is a bit off subject but this reminded me,,last sunday me and my better half went to Blackbushe Mkt and there was a stall that sold a full range of 'magic mushrooms' ,,so we had a look and over heard the salesman talking to a couple..'put on your fav music and you will mellow after some of these'.......... didnt know this was legal

NO!would like to go but will be away at that time.Sadly it could be the last time we run at Elvington as we hope to be taking Viper and Ourselves to New Zealand.(Nothing personal mate!!!)
Sorry to hear the American car scene will be losing you to the southern hemisphere, hopefully we can have some fun at Elvington before you go.
I will make sure to bring a cooler full of 4 packs so we can have a drink after the fun.
