Just got this today, like it, but it gets bloody hard sometimes.

Any Phers playing? Or are we all on COD4 still smile

Tried it, didn't like it. Hasn't moved on in 20-odd years.

just finished playing it this weekend and my opinion is it's far too fiddly and hard. Fighters should be easy to pick up you shouldn't have to spend hours trying to do one move before being K.O'd frown

I hated it. As An old skool Street fighter 2 fan (as in still have my SNES set up to play it!) it just felt wrong. All the reviews were full of fluff and hype, to me it just felt impossibly fiddly. Sold it to a mate 2 days after I got it.

Funnily enough there are 3 streetfighter fans in our house (I alone have probably half a dozen versions for the PS2 alone, not counting the old copies on my housemates Xbox and the Snes and Megadrive originals etc...)

All 3 of us love it. Thought it was probably the best it could have been and utterly perfect as an evolution of SF2.

I cant understand some of the earlier comments about it being fiddly, whats fiddly?

Most of the characters basic gameplay is pretty much unchanged in 15 years (on the surface at least) and as the granddaddy of modern beat-em-ups I would be amazed to find any fight fan who cant perform the basic special moves (dragon punch, fireball etc) even if they've learned the button combinations on another game.

It's grade A primo stuff. We've got two copies of it in the house (one on the PS3 and one on the 360) and it get used at least weekly as the only game the three of us will sit and play - for hours once we settle in for a session.

I felt it pandered too much to the proper "HARDCORE!!!" Fighter fans and didn't offer enough to make it accessible and involving for those of us less dedicated. I left it with the overwhelming feeling it had been play tested exclusively with the arcade stick. It felt clumsy with the PS3 pad, and yes of couse I can pull of fireballs and tiger uppercuts with the rest of them, but I kept missing them on PS3 and dying ridiculously quickly as a result.

All in all I felt it was too introspective for it's own good, and I just didn't get on with it. I'll dig out SF2 for old times sake now and again, but I can't imagine the pain of taking SF4 online. Lifes too short to spend all day getting my ass whupped by 14 year olds with the twitch reflexes of a flea and who were a sperm or less when I was playing the definitive game.

I won't lie, guilty of hundreds of hours of play. Some really scary amounts of time (mis-)spent.
